Educational Insights is an electronic journal sponsored by
the Centre for the Study of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty
of Education, at the University of British Columbia. Our location
however, resides in the practices, theories, ambitions and
dreams of our Editorial Circle, who are scholars and educators
from across Canada, and into the United States. (See Editorial
Circle).
The Editorial Circle, curriculum theorists, writers, and
pedagogical adventurers, are presently repositioning Educational
Insights as an innovative evocative provocative intertextual
space for engaging in new dialogues of enRapturing con/texts
and reimagining spaces of pedagogy, inquiry, and interdisciplinarity.
Our intent is to encourage a community that honours difference
and polyphony, while sharing a vision of pedagogy, education,
inquiry as spaces of challenge and hopeful conversations.
Educational Insights originated in 1990 as a publishing venue
for graduate students. In 1995, co-editors, Gary Rasberry
and David Penberg, moved the journal from hard copy to cyberspace,
a decision which has proven prophetic in terms of 21st century
communications and hermeneutic meaning-making. While the initial
journal issues were limited to linear text presentation, there
is now the opportunity to explore pedagogical and curricular
positioning through sound, video, non-linear and performative
text. In celebration of the 25th year of the Centre for the
Study of Curriculum and Instruction, Director Karen Meyer
proposed that Educational Insights be imagined anew as an
international journal open to all scholars whose work encourages
new ways of envisioning educational issues, pedagogy, curriculum,
inquiry, and interdisciplinarity.
Educational Insights Course Offering
Graduate students currently matriculating at University of
British Columbia's Faculty of Education are encouraged to

Editorial Circle's consideration
