I am a graduate student in the School of Journalism in UBC.
I worked as a news reporter in China for two years before I came to UBC. I am
concerned with the role of media in education. It is an era of information
explosion. School education alone is far from enough today if students do not
know how to deal with the information, bias, and stereotypes in current mass
media including the Internet. But how should educators help students to obtain
a proper attitude towards media? How could educators and students dialogue with
media? How should media reflect its role in education, not only to children,
but also to educators and the public?
