Hope Education
Jeanne-Marie Rugira
To
work with Professor Jacques Daignault is to gently enter into the world
of education as a Work of Life; a Work of Hope. Meeting this reader
and philosophical follower of Simone Weil is to discover his educational
project and to be initiated to the terrifying weight of human incarnation
when face to face with grace.
During
my research training with Professor Daignault
I understood what Jean-Yves Le Loup (1998) meant when he said that man
is not a being, but a “may-be-being.” It
is this able-ing (ce peut)
and this tinyness (ce peu) that constitutes
both hope and freedom. This ce peut and ce peu incite us
to create passage ways to build communities that are more lively and
loving.
