Dr. Antoinette Oberg is an Associate Professor
and Graduate Advisor who works in the Department of Curriculum
and Instruction where she developed and coordinates the graduate
programs in Curriculum Studies. She is a past president of the
Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies. In 1995 she was
acknowledged for distinguished contribution to Canadian Curriculum
Studies. She is former Canadian editor for the Journal
of Curriculum Studies and advisory editor for several
other international journals. She was a member of British Columbia's
1993 Royal Commission on Education. She is former director of
the University of Victoria Learning and Teaching Centre and in
1995 won the University of Victoria Alumni Award for excellence
in university teaching. She teaches graduate courses in curriculum
theory and interpretive inquiry. Her research focuses on her
practices related to students' inquiries. These practices acknowledge
that students arrive already situated in their inquiries and
that these inquiries generate their own form through writing.
