I am working on two fronts. One in a school
reform project called the Middle School Initiative, a Carnegie
based school reform initiative which collaborates with 12 New
York City public middle schools to redesign the ways they work
with students. I am a staff and curriculum developer with this.
The other hat I wear is with a large scale pre-service initiative
done in conjunction with 3 community colleges and the Stevens
Institute of Technology to encourage teachers to integrate the
internet into their teaching repertoire.
I have two articles being published this
year. One is for Bank Street's Occasional papers called "A
Little Bit of Everything: Teaching and Travelling Abroad." The
other, which is being published by EI is a personal and pedagogical
reflection on 9.11 called "Acts
of Conscience and Acts of Care: Rejecting Normalcy in a Time
of Terror." Finally, this Spring I will be completing
a multimedia worked entitled The Rebeka/Zora
Chronicles 1980-1990: A Father's Diary.
