I work in the area of curriculum studies,
with a specific research interest in literary engagement as a
site for learning. As well, I conduct research into the experience
of identity, with particular attention to identities that fall
outside normative boundaries. My latest book is with Lawrence
Erlbaum Associates, and is entitled "Why
Reading Literature in School Still Matters: Imagination, Interpretation,
Insight." I am starting a new three year research
project that will study the experiences of counternormativity
within the context of pre-service teacher education.
